Well, I was writing my study notes for one of my classes and I just realized that I had wrote the word "curtain" instead of "certain". Now I did this throughout my whole paper and the prof is all about a well written paper, grammar, and spelling is a big thing for him.
I did email him just to let him know what had happened and that I realize that "curtain" is not the same word as "certain".
Have you ever had this happen to you?

What I do when I'm suppose to be writing a paper
So, as I'm writing this I should be writing a paper but I'm not. I am the worst for procrastination. I always leave things to the last minute.
Like last night I was up until 3 working on this paper and I'm still not done. I have tried working on things throughout a period of time so I don't have to do it at the last minute but it always ends up that I do it at the last minute and I'm staying up late and writing a paper.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure some people can manage their time and write a paper that's super good without having to stay up late. Like I said before I've tried that. I know it's not the greatest excuse but I feel like I work better when I'm under pressure. That is probably the worst thing you can say and I've had profs tell us that that is totally not true and you need to manage your time so you don't have the pressure.
Well this has gone on way to long so I should probably get back to writing my paper.
Do you ever procrastinate on writing papers?

Is it Friday the 13th?!?
Yesterday at school I was just haven't one of those days.
My first class I decided that I was going to sit in a little bit different spot than I normally do. I decided that I would sit closer to the professor and the projector. Our classroom isn't that big it only fits about 65 people so when I moved I didn't think it would be a big detail.
Well it was, not for the other people in my class but for myself. When I moved I didn't think of who I was sitting behind. And of course I sat behind the tallest biggest guy in the whole class. So the whole class I sat there dodging his head trying to see the screen and copy down the notes. At one point I ended up copying from the girl sitting beside me because I couldn't see at all what was on the board.
My next class isn't for another two hours so I usually do my theory assignment or other work that I have to do. I got really wrapped up with my assignment and before I knew it it was 11:18 and my class starts at 11:30 so I packed up my stuff and walked to class. As I was walking to class there was a girl that is in my class right in front of me. Once we got into the building she just walked right into the classroom. There was no one outside the room waiting, so I walked in right after her.
Well that wasn't the greatest decision the class that is before my class was still going on. So instead of walking out of the class, I just sat down and got my assignment out and started working on it again to make it look like I was paying attention in the class.
Some of you my ask "How did you make the mistake of walking in to the wrong class?"
Well the class that is before me almost everyone that is in that class is also in my class. And when I looked in the window it looked like everyone was talking so I just walked in. Opps...

Have you ever walked into a class that you were not in by accident?

Already Stressin'
It's the end of the second week of school and I'm already feeling very stressed and overwhelmed. Is that bad?
I thought I could handle going back to school and working. Which I think I'm juggling quite well, but it's just the work load I feel is more than it has been in past years. And there's the added stress of having to pass all my classes because there's no more second chances.
As of right now being off for a year was not good what so ever. I'm not in the groove of being productive and just doing the work. And I'm not in the habit of talking notes well.
I don't know what to do from here I have to stay in all my classes and pass all of them I guess as of right now I'm going to have to say "goodbye" to my social life and "hello" to school almost 24/7.
-Swell Mel :) (Well not really swell right now)

Managing your time for school
Over the past few years I have had a few methods that have not been so successful. So this year I thought that since I love lists I would build that into my time management. So I have always had a planner/ agenda and that has been a must have for me, I feel lost without it.
This year one of the new things that has seemed to work so far. I have a notebook that I make a list of the things that I have to do and when they are due by so I can prioritize and I also have it sorted by class so it's very organized.

When I have completed what I need to do I will highlight it so I know what is finished and it also feels super rewarding to cross things off a list and look at it when it's done with everything crossed off.
Back to my agenda, every year I usually just buy one that is a week at a time so you can see your week at a glance. But this year I thought it through and for me I can't really see how much time I have and if I look at a day and I have a million things to do I get really stressed. So this this year I bought an agenda a day at a time so it has time slots and you can put everything in and at the beginning of the month you have a calendar which I really like because then I can still see the month but I can go into detail for the days. Also I think the best part of this agenda is that once the day is over you can tear the bottom corner off so it's really quick to get to the days!
What works for you to manage your time?

Being organized in the morning
So I discovered this system two years ago at the start of second term so I could look really presentable during school and so I wasn't changing twenty times in the morning.
So what I do is the Saturday or Sunday before the week starts I write on paper what I'm going to wear that day and then tape it on a hanger with all the clothes on it.
So the outfit that I will be wearing the next day I have a hanger on the back of my door so I place it there.
On a post-it note I write what my hair and make-up are going to be so I'm not sitting looking in the mirror for five minutes trying to figure out what my make-up and hair is going to look like. I also have a list of things that I might have to pack, take or just do in the morning so I don't run out of the house forgetting to do something. (Which I'm sure we have all done before)
Hopefully this is helpful for you to be organized in the morning.
How are you organized in the morning?
